I installed two of these faucets on our master bath vanity. The center of each handle can be up to 7.5" from the center of the spout base. The faucet spout points straight down, is 5" above the counter-top, and 5" from the center of the spout base, so there's plenty of room underneath to, say, wash your hands.
Pros:
- It's all in the eye of the beholder, but we think these faucets look elegant and expensive.
- Works perfectly. Very smooth operation; no dripping when you turn it off.
- Some faucet aerators severely restrict water volume. Not this one. At full on with hot, cold, or both, plenty of water flows out, with quite a bit of force. (We have city water pressure of 75 psi.) Hot water gets to the faucet quickly at full on; or for cold water, you can quickly fill a cup.
- The snout swivels 360 degrees, a very nice feature. It can actually be swung behind a faucet handle on either side. See Customer Images.
- Quality is excellent, with precision parts, lots of brass and a nickle finish similar to brushed stainless steel.
- 1/4 turn from off to full on, which is pretty standard for high-end faucets. No faucet washers to wear out.
- Includes a handy installation tool to tighten the brass nut under the vanity, which holds each valve down. About the only thing not included is plumbers putty to install the nickle-plated drain. A rubber washer for immediately under the drain is included, but it was much too thick for our sinks.
Cons:
- When the drain plug is up, it leans to the front, and pops up no more than 1/4". When it's down, it looks perfect. But when it's up, it looks sort wimpy, since it leans forward too much, doesn't come up very far, and is a very loose fit; and yes, the installation instructions were followed to a T. However, this is really only noticeable when the unit is first installed; after that, no one pays attention to a drain plug...
- The flexible plastic hose from each faucet base to the snout base doesn't instill confidence in it lasting 20 years. The 20-year-old Delta faucets we replaced had standard flexible tubes screwed into each faucet base leading to the snout base. Any replacement tube with 3/8" female fittings on each end would have worked. Price Pfister's plastic hose has a custom connector in its center that attaches to a copper tube under the snout base with a one-way spring clip fitting similar to an axle cap on toy wheels. Once it's on, it can't be removed. See Customer Images. Each end of that hose slides onto a faucet bottom and is held on with a stainless steel clip. The only thing preventing leaks in this setup are some O rings. Delta's approach was far superior.
Summary:
If you like the styling, you'll should be satisfied with this faucet.
