(More customer reviews)If you're a DIYer who's installing a bowl-type sink, you'll likely need a mounting ring as a support between the sink and counter top. That might seem like an inconsequential item on your list of fixtures to pick up. You can buy one at the local "big box" store that should fit your needs. The ones I tried, though, were cheap, stamped out parts with a flat "washer" type seal. It didn't seem like it would remain water tight and leak-proof over time. When this mounting ring arrived, I was amazed at the difference in quality and sheer weight of the thing. After a ridiculous maneuver, while getting up from underneath my project, I managed to drop the ring on my head and I was certain it broke my nose. (Don't try this at home kids) The rubber seal is round bodied and provided a more even seat with less chance of crimping to cause a compromise over time and use. More expensive than the big box ring, but with the quality I was looking for.
