Bath Ball Water Faucet Filter - BB-104 Review

Bath Ball Water Faucet Filter - BB-104

Our water has some pretty intense chlorine--the filtration plant says it's 1ppm, which I suppose is average for city water supplies but it doesn't make for a pleasant drinking/showering/bathing experience. We've run whole house carbon filters for years but they wear out really quickly and we don't always get around to replacing them on time. I bought the bath ball for an 80 gallon bathtub that's used on a daily basis in the winter--it's sort of a stand-in for a hot tub and our family is super addicted to it! I really needed something to reduce the chlorine for our baths, but there are few options. The only problem with this product, aside from high cost, is that a lot of people complain it doesn't hang from their faucet without major jury-rigging. My faucet actually looks a lot like the one pictured, it slopes downward with a flange or flare at the bottom, so I figured it would work. I was right! I have to slow down the water flow a little when I'm filling the tub so that the water doesn't spill over the sides of the filter, but it's well worth it. It works like a charm to neutralize the chlorine. The manufacturer states that the filter will last for 26,000 gallons, but that depends on how much chlorine is actually in your water. Even if it turns out that I have to replace the filter several times a year, it's worth it to me for better water quality and healthier baths! Another bonus is that every component of the filter is recyclable.

The cartridge is of good quality but sometimes the leak is not due a worn-out cartridge but the seal between the bottom of it and where contact is made with the inside of the fixture.

Delta Diverter Assembly Review

This little item totally fixed our sink sprayer. It had no power before and I found on teh internet where this sucker was the culprit. A few sites told us we could use a toothbrush to clean the one we had but that turned out not to work for us (but doesn't mean you should not try a thorough cleaning first before making a purchase). We just went ahead and ordered this replacement part and all is well.

This product sucks! It would work great for about 3-4 days and then the light gets blown from the water.... or something, all I know is I bought 3 of them for around the house and all three have blown in just a few days. What a big fat waste of my money!

Bosch AE-9.5 PowerStar 1.5 GPM Point-Of-Use Indoor Tankless Electric Water Heater Review

Bosch AE-9.5 PowerStar 1.5 GPM Point-Of-Use Indoor Tankless Electric Water Heater

Less than 2 months after installation, this unit will not turn off. It has burst PEX tubing three times due to the overheat condition, and started to smoke and sizzle multiple times.
It will *not* turn off even with both in and out water valves closed, and we have to flip the breakers to render it safe.
That of course means no hot water -- kind of why we bought the unit to start with.
The company is using every excuse in the book to not honor the warranty. They want me to a) hire a technician (at my expense) to troubleshoot the item on site, b) install copper tubing (also at my expense - despite being reminded water hot enough to melt PEX is too hot for skin), c) move the setting to low (meaning lukewarm water), and send them a $100 deposit which upon return of the defective unit, at their discretion, they might refund "if the unit does in fact requires warranty service".
An honorable company would send a new unit and an RMA for the defective one, not seek to place blame (however illogical) on the purchaser. Nor should I be required to do field repairs on the pressure switch (or pay a pro) on a $200 item.
I am being given the run-around, talking to person after person, and the company is using every possible excuse to wiggle out of honoring their warranty.
The unit is unsafe at this point, and represents a fire, flooding, and/or serious scalding risk.
A new unit may or may not have these risks, but I can't be sure BECAUSE THE COMPANY WON'T SEND ME ANOTHER ONE despite the unit being only 2 months old and their "troubleshooting" requires *ME* to spend more on technicians than the original purchase price of the unit.

Stop-A-Clog Drain Protector (Clear) (5" Diameter) Review

Stop-A-Clog Drain Protector (Clear) (5 Diameter)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The ONLY problem is that my shower drain is technically larger than the diameter of the protector. That being said, I decided to place it in the drain anyway. And everyday, all the time, it STILL catches hair in it! So I would say it works fabulously--only wish the diameter were larger.
